If you have been loyal to The Safety Zone®, Impact Products or Malt Industries brand of products, then chances are you experiencing difficulties in procuring disposable personal protection equipment ( PPE) such as coveralls, frocks, or gloves for your facilty or job site.

Acquisitions and bankruptcy of these major suppliers have created a drop in service levels and a void in providing workplace safety supplies in a reasonable manner forcing customers across the United States to scramble for supplies to fill supply chains.

On July 19, 2024, Hospeco® Brands Group’s bid was accepted by a Delaware bankruptcy court as the winning offer for the assets of Supply Source Enterprises (SSE), comprised of The Safety Zone®, Impact Products and Malt Industries.

If you are a customer of these SSE brands, unfortunately you have been forced to navigate through U.S. Bankruptcy proceedings while enduring multiple product deletions, SKU changes, price increases, lengthy shipping times, empty customer service departments and ridiculous changes to minimum order requirements. And it won't get any easier anytime soon as the SSE brands will soon be converting packaging to Hospeco® labeling sometime is September 2024 forcing some businesses  to rewrite their specificiations. Frankly, it has end-users feeling like they are navigating through the pandemic PPE supply shortages again.

Unfortunately, customers who rely on disposable personal protection equipment (PPE) or commercial cleaning and maintenance accessories cannot accept abrupt logistical delays and it has forced customers to scramble to procure alternative supplies critical for the safety and productivity of their operations. If you are considering a conversion at your facility, we would like you to know we have options for you!

Offered in a variety of materials, Keystone® Safety offers limited-use protective apparel constructed of the following popular and proven fabric materials such as:

Polypropylene: Spun bonded polypropylene is a lightweight, breathable fabric that provides economical protection against non-hazardous, grimy-work environment applications. It is the best low-cost solution for protecting workers against dry particulates, dirt, grime, and fluid spray. Spun bonded polypropylene is appropriate for wear in the non-toxic workplace and is a low-cost solution for protecting workers in dirty environments.

Laminated Polypropylene (PE Coated): Coated polypropylene has the added benefit of a solid sheet of polyethylene bonded to the surface providing protection where liquid splash is a concern. The polyethylene film is impervious and non-linting with great tensile strength. Great for pesticide spraying, asbestos, mold remediation, painting, light acid splash protection and any wet general areas. An economical solution for light non-hazardous splash protection.

SMS (Multi-Ply): SMS barrier fabric is a unique tri-laminate construction that offers a high tensile strength and toughness that is soft, drapable, and easy to work with, the material also offers excellent barrier protection while keeping the worker cool and comfortable. SMS provides a fluid and particulate barrier to protect the worker without sacrificing mobility and comfort. Garments constructed of SMS fabric are strong and durable, yet offer outstanding comfort, breathability, softness, and wearability. SMS is lightweight and resistant to tears and punctures.

Tyvek®: Tyvek® is a spun bonded olefin fabric from Dupont made from high density polyethylene fibers that offer unique qualities of excellent barrier protection and strength and is highly resistant to tears and punctures. Spun bonded olefin is strong, lightweight, flexible, smooth, low-linting, opaque and resistant to water and chemicals. The unique low-linting properties, combined with the barrier properties, make Tyvek® garments an excellent choice for Cleanroom apparel in pharmaceutical manufacture and electronic device assembly

Keyguard®: Keyguard fabric is a current cost savings alternative to Tyvek® that provides the worker with outstanding protection, durability, and comfort. Keyguard® is a microporous polyolefin fabric that is highly effective everywhere Tyvek® is used.
