DriCan® Can Keep Displays Dry
A Powerful, Non-Rupturing “Forever” Desiccant Container that Controls Moisture Levels Indicates When It Is Time to Replace
Museums, science centers and antique/sports collectors face the challenge of protecting and preserving artifacts and other valuables for the enjoyment and education of current and future generations. But collectibles are susceptible to damage while in storage or on display. Items such as old newspapers, maps, delicate electronics, instruments, magazines, trading cards, jewelry, books, paintings, documents, precious metals, and other valuable artifacts can be destroyed by fluctuating humidity levels and condensation within the display case or storage unit.
To offset potential damage, it is important to regulate humidity and to keep the environment dry. Specialized moisture absorbers referred to as a desiccant are placed within exhibit cases to regulate the sealed atmosphere. Desiccants are simple to use and work by a process called adsorption where airborne moisture is absorbed or captured between tiny pores as the air passes through the granule. The water molecules become trapped, so the air is dried as it passes through this simple filtering process.
"FOREVER" DESICCANT CONTAINERS
If you are searching for the perfect device to prolong and protect your prized collectibles, DriCan® indicating desiccant containers are your partner in preservation.
DriCan® is a rigid, non-leaching and rechargeable encapsulated desiccating container filled with chemically inert, non-corrosive, non-toxic, and odorless blue indicating silica gel. Designed to protect all types of articles from deterioration, rust, corrosion, mold, mildew, and other damage caused by airborne moisture or high humidity,
Dri-Can® will rapidly and actively regulate the surrounding air and keep it that way. The slim profile makes DriCan® ideal for limited space areas in all types of moisture-resistant tightly closed or sealed containers, safes, vaults, lockers, bags, jars, display cases, toolboxes, cabinets, packages and more.
ADVANTAGES:
- Reusable over and over
- Long-lasting
- Regenerated easily
- High moisture capacity
- Easy to use
- High Moisture Capacity
- Safe for all products
The desiccant material within the DriCan® Canister contains 40 grams (1.5 oz.) of carefully formulated and closely managed Blue Indicating Silica Gel that attracts water vapor and holds it physically through surface adsorption and capillary condensation. Silica gel granules have a tremendous number of thirsty microscopic pores which give it a high moisture capacity and will last indefinitely when properly reconditioned.
EASY MONITORING & REGENERATION
The desiccant content has a reversible action. When the desiccant beads inside the container turn pink in color, it indicates it is saturated and it is time to reactivate or replace the canister. Available in a perforated translucent injection molded plastic case, DriCan's saturation capacity or cycle can be easily monitored making replacement easy and exact.
Microwave Oven - (Plastic only) Place plastic DriCan® on its side - Heat DriCan® in microwave on high (using a 900-watt microwave) in 3-minute intervals until beads turn blue. Time may vary depending on the wattage of the microwave used. DriCan® has no harmful effect on the material with which it comes in contact. The content is chemically inert, non-corrosive, non-toxic, and odorless.
- Size: 4-1/8" x 2-5/8" x 3/4"
- Weight: 1.4oz
- One DriCan® will maintain a safe level of humidity in three cubic feet/5,175 cubic inches of sealed space
- Packaged: 1 container per foil overwrap with instruction card. 24 per master carton
DriCan can be employed to dry the air in all types of moisture resistant enclosures to protect equipment from rust, corrosion, and moisture damage. Indicating silica gel changes from blue to pink in color to let you know when Dri-Can canister regeneration is required. Science center exhibits, art museums, jewelers, car museums, sports collectors and auto restoration, will benefit from these inexpensive, maintenance-free, long-lasting and self-indicating DriCan® moisture desiccant containers.

*CAUTION: Allow sufficient cooling before removing DriCan® from an oven or microwave to reduce risk of personal injury. Damage to desiccant may occur in microwave ovens over 900 watts or from temperatures above 163°C (325°F). Under extreme humid conditions, desiccant may achieve rapid saturation which reduces absorption capacity. Allow sufficient space between the DriCan® openings and the microwave to let steam vent away from the DriCan®. Cooling of the heated silica gel must be completed in a humidity-controlled environment so as not to reabsorb unwanted moisture until needed.
+FOR BEST RESULTS: Replace container after one desiccant cycle
