Consider how many drinking cups are served in restaurants and grocery stores across our country everyday-the numbers are staggering. Used to protect, serve or transport beverages, they eventually are tossed into the garbage and into landfills where studies show it can take 100+ years to decompose.

There is a new technology available for your foodservice packaging and catering disposables and it’s called Polyactic acid (PLA). PLA is a plastic substrate made from fermented plant starch (usually corn) and it is fast becoming a popular alternative to traditional petroleum based plastics. 

After use, these Vegware™ 79-Series 8-ounce hot cups can be given a new life as compost, since these cups are made of sustainably-sourced board material certified to degrade in a composting facility within 12 weeks!  These Single Walled Hot Paper Cups are lined with plant-based PLA and feature a Green Leaf band design so you can showcase your commitment to sustainability.
